Military affiliated students may qualify for a resident tuition rate depending on their situation.

To apply for a military exemption to the residency requirements, you must complete the residency application 和 submit the required documentation under one of the qualifying categories below.

美国现役军人

  • 一份让你执行现役任务的军令副本。
  • 现役军人身份证复印件。

美国现役军人直系亲属（配偶或受抚养人）

  • 将该服役人员派往现役的军令副本。
  • Copy of the military service member’s military ID card 和 a copy of your military privilege card.
  • Evidence of family relationship (Service member’s tax return, birth certificate, marriage certificate)

美国退伍军人

  • 军事DD-214副本，其中包括光荣或一般退伍证明。

美国退伍军人直系亲属（配偶或受抚养人）

  • 退伍军人的DD-214副本，其中包括光荣或一般退役的证明。
  • If applicant is the dependent child or spouse of the U.S. military veteran, a copy of the military service member’s most recent federal tax return verifying they claimed the applicant as a tax dependent or copy of birth certificate or marriage certificate.

The foreign service member is domiciled in Utah, recognizing the individual may not be physically present in the state due to an assignment:

  • Statement from the foreign service members current comm和er, or equivalent, stating the foreign service member is assigned to Utah OR evidence that the foreign service member is domiciled in Utah.

  • Ambassadors at large, appointed under section 3942 (a) (1);
  • Members of the Senior Foreign Service, appointed under section 3942 (a) (1) or 3943, who are the corps of leaders 和 experts for the management of the Service 和 the performance of its functions;
  • Foreign Service officers, appointed under section 3942 (a) (1), who have general responsibility for carrying out the functions of the Service;
  • Foreign Service personnel, United States citizens appointed under section 3943, who provide skills 和 services required for effective performance by the Service;
  • Foreign national employees, foreign nationals appointed under section 3943, who provide clerical, administrative, technical, fiscal, 和 other support at Foreign Service posts abroad; 和
  • Consular agents, appointed under section 3943 by the Secretary of State, who provide consular 和 related services as authorized by the Secretary of State at specified locations abroad where no Foreign Service posts are situated.
United States Department of Defense employee 和 immediate family member (Spouse or Dependent)
  • 国防部文职人员的现行美国国防部身份证
  • A statement from the DOD civilian's current comm和er, or equivalent, stating that the DOD civilian is assigned in Utah
  • Evidence that the DOD civilian is domiciled in Utah, including all of the following documents:
    • 犹他州选民登记卡
    • 犹他州的驾驶执照或身份证
    • 犹他州车辆登记
    • Member, military service member's spouse's name, DOD civilian, or
      DOD civilian's spouse filed as a resident in accordance with Section 59-10-502; or
      (v)proof that the military service member or, military service member's spouse,
      DOD civilian, or DOD civilian's spouse owns a home in Utah, including a
      property tax notice for property owned in Utah.
