Fellowship provides funding and support for the selected proposals in the following areas:

  • 津贴及资助: Faculty members may choose to receive up to one course relief buyout of $3500 and up to one stipend of $3500. Alternatively, faculty may elect to forego either their course buyout or stipend and instead put that monetary amount toward research expenditures; in this case, $3500 will be made available by the 赫伯特学院 to support research expenses including intern support, materials, travel, or other costs.
Fellows may be hired to assist faculty members in their research endeavors. If a 学生 Fellow is hired, they will be available up to 20 hours per week to assist in all research areas, fostering a collaborative learning environment while gaining practical experience. Existing Herbert policy interns may be assigned to conduct policy research.
The fellowship encourages faculty to engage students and collaborate with community partners throughout the research process, ensuring that the project's findings benefit a wider audience. Faculty and students will have access to the Department of Natural Resources staff and data. This will be coordinated with the 赫伯特学院 Executive Director.
This primary deliverable will be a policy white paper, published and disseminated to Utah policymakers and the public, contributing valuable insights to public policy.
  • 付款: The 赫伯特学院 will issue half ($1,750) of the stipend or course relief upon initiation of the project. The remaining half will be withheld until successful completion of the final draft.
