富尔顿图书馆 is committed to ensuring accessibility for people with disabilities and strives to comply with accessibility laws and standards. We are continually making changes to improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards. The resources outlined on this page are designed to support the needs of those with disabilities. Please contact the library for any specific needs not covered on this page or for additional assistance. 我们期待在图书馆见到你!
Anyone who needs assistance retrieving materials from the shelves may request help from a staff member at the Circulation Desks or the Research 帮助 Desk. Library staff can also pull books and other materials ahead of time and hold them for pick-up later. To request an item (also called placing a hold), call 801-863-8886 or log in to your library account using the navigation bar at the top of the library’s website.
Registered borrowers can send someone to check out materials in their place by filling out a 代理签收表格.
The library offers in-person help at the Research 帮助 Desk, over the phone, and virtually through chat, text, and email options on the library’s homepage. Librarians can help with various stages in your research, including developing a research question, planning search strategies, locating articles and books, and using subject-specific databases. You can also set up a research consultation appointment with the 学科馆员 for your department or major.
To speak with a librarian one-on-one in a private and quiet environment with fewer distractions, please 与图书管理员预约. 由于需求,我们每学期可以为每个学生提供1-2个研究预约。 You do not need to show documentation of disability, but you may want to provide details about your preferred method of communication and any software, technology, or accommodations you may need for the appointment (such as a sign language interpreter or zoom text).
我们可以做的例子:
库教程 and databases (where you can find articles) work with screen readers and videos are captioned. We can provide library research instruction for your classes with live captioning. 请让我们知道我们如何能提供帮助。
We strive to make our collections as accessible as possible, including purchasing both print and electronic materials. If you encounter a resource in a format that isn’t accessible to you, please reach out to the appropriate 学科馆员, who will attempt to find the resource in a format that works better for you. You can also use the “ask a librarian” options on the 库帮助页面. When alternate access isn’t possible, you can contact the 无障碍技术中心—they may be able to reformat the source.
