The B.S. in web design and development allows students to study app development for mobile devices, web design, and development for mobile-friendly websites, digital magazine publishing, and user experience design. The degree has two available emphases: interaction design and web and app development. Both tracks require a portfolio review to advance to upper division.
Focused on the user experience (UX), students will be trained to enter the field as a digital product designer. The curriculum shares classes with web and app development emphasis for the first half of the degree, then focuses on the interaction design process. The final capstone project includes working on a product team with designers, developers and project managers.
With the many new positions opening up on Silicon Slopes and around the area, our goal is to prepare students to become the best educated, most prepared, and well-rounded junior-level frontend web developers competing for these jobs. The A.A.S. in web design and development provides students with a basic understanding of the interaction design process and web and app development, enabling students to enter the workforce sooner.
The Associate of Applied Science in Web Design and Development will provide students with employable skills and a pathway to further education.
