大家好! 我现在是犹他谷大学生物系的助理教授。 我在马奎特大学获得了结构生物学博士学位，在那里我研究了一种叫做丙酮酸羧化酶的细菌代谢酶。 在弗吉尼亚大学，我主要给生物专业的学生讲授生物学入门。 我也做生物教育方面的研究，这很好，因为我的研究可以帮助我的教学，反之亦然。 我的主要研究兴趣是科学认同和科学思想的接受。

我仍然不把自己定义为科学家，这很奇怪。 我做了所有科学家会做的事情，但我觉得“科学家”这个词与某些刻板印象联系得太紧密了，以至于我没有在那个身份中看到自己。 如果我自己都不把自己看作科学家，我又怎么能期望我的学生把自己看作科学家呢？ 这个概念对我很有吸引力，我想进一步探索它。

当我不教学或做研究的时候，我剩下的时间都和Josh、Aria和Alba在一起。 我们喜欢远足、动物园、博物馆和各种有趣的儿童活动。 我的自我照顾时间是花在锻炼、阅读科幻书籍和听播客/有声读物上的。
