Acceptance to UVU is required prior to submitting an application to the UVU Nursing Program. *BIOL 1610是ZOOL 2320， ZOOL 2420和MICRO 2060的先决条件。 If these courses were taken at a different institution that does not require BIOL 1610 as a prerequisite, then BIOL 1610 is not required for application. However, students who have not taken the general education (GE) requirement of a 3rd science course may need an additional science course for BSN graduation.  If needed it is recommended that BIOL 1610 be completed prior to applying.

Although there are a variety of ways to obtain college credit, some can fill UVU nursing prerequisites while others cannot. The pre-nursing advisors are available to assist you. Please be aware of the following credits and/or grades, and how they may affect your eligibility to apply:

• 复读课程: Repeating a course for a better grade is an option and does not affect your UVU Nursing application adversely.
• 及格/不及格或信用/无信用等级: Only letter grades are accepted for all prerequisite class grades, except MATH QL. UVU will accept a CLEP test of MATH 1050, or QL credit given by the University for an ACT score of 26 or higher.
• AP学分AP成绩3分、4分或5分可以作为先决条件。 These must be posted to your transcript as credit. For purposes of calculating the GPA, a score of 3 = B+, 4 = A-, and 5 = A.
• 课程替换: In order to give students the best opportunity to have a competitive GPA, there are some courses which may be used as a substitution for a prerequisite if a higher grade was received in the substituting course and the grade in the prerequisite course meets nursing standard minimum grade. The following are examples of appropriate substitutions:
  • ENGL 1010: If ENGL 2010 or 2020 has been completed with a better grade than the ENGL 1010, that course may be substituted for the prerequisite ENGL 1010 course.
  • MATH QL: Any higher-level math class which required College Algebra as a prerequisite (except Trigonometry) may be substituted for the prerequisite Math QL course.
  Any other course substitutions will be determined on a case-by-case basis by the Department of Nursing 招生 Committee.

All interviewed applicants will be notified of the final admission decision through their UVU student email account.  Receiving notification may take up to 2-3 weeks following interviews.

Candidates who are selected as alternates will be notified through their UVU student email account.  Alternates will be notified, in rank-order, if openings occur prior to the beginning of the semester through their UVU student email account.

Final admission in to the UVU Nursing Program is contingent on meeting all deadlines set by the 护理学系. Failure to meet deadlines will forfeit your position in the program. 暂时被UVU护理专业录取的学生必须：

• UVU has sole discretion to deny entrance based upon the information contained in either of these two reports.
