学生事务依靠资金和资源来创建和执行改善学生体验的项目和倡议。 As a leadership team, we are prioritizing creating case statements for all departments and ensuring that all department leaders are equipped with the information they need to advocate for their program’s needs.
Our goal is to acquire $300,000 in new scholarship dollars and $3 million in grants by 2025. To accomplish this, Student Affairs is working to develop and support our own smaller campaigns as part of the larger EverGREEN campaign.
Public funding empowers us to bring our biggest ideas to life. Federal grants allow us to serve high school and post-secondary students in our service region through our TRIO programs, including the Educational Opportunity Center and Student Support Services. Another federal program housed at UVU is GEAR UP, a federal grant program that serves low-income 9th-12th grade students across Utah to help them graduate from high school and prepare for college.
During the 2023 Legislative Session, UVU received funding dedicated to the Native American Excellence Opportunity from the state. These funds have already allowed us to create new programming for Native American and Indigenous students, and we are committed to expanding services and programs for UVU’s Native community.
UVU also receives public funding at the city level. The city of Provo sponsors the CARE Hub and empowers us to provide for our students through the food pantry and other vital resources.
Student Affairs programs are built from each and every private donation we receive, whether we’re able to open a new center or provide a scholarship to one more student.

To honor our donors, our goal is to name all Student Affairs programs and centers after a donor who exemplifies the vision and goals of each of our initiatives, such as the Barbara Barrington Jones Family Foundation Wee Care Center.

Your donation can support individual students and make a major impact on a student’s ability to focus on their education. The Student Emergency Fund, launched in 2019, provides students with $50-$500 in immediate funding to meet short-term needs. From 2020–2022, we distributed $165,000 to 378 students.
Donations to the Student Emergency Fund are distributed to students almost as quickly as they are received. We rely on private donations to provide this crucial assistance to students. If you are interested in donating to the Student Emergency Fund, learn more here.
