树校园高等教育® is a recognition issued by the Arbor Day Foundation to recognize higher education institutions that promote a healthy urban forest and foster student and community engagement with urban forestry. UVU has received the 树校园高等教育® recognition each year since 2018. To earn this recognition UVU met the following 5 standards:
The 本机花园 - currently under construction - is a curated demonstration garden highlighting plants native to Utah and the intermountain West. It is located west of the Environmental Technology (EN) building and east of the ponds. The grand opening is scheduled for spring 2025.
The 共同增强韧性和包容性（GRIT）花园 - established Spring 2022 - is an inclusive space for the UVU community to come together in research, education, and community resilience. The Garden grows fresh produce for the UVU Food Pantry and provides space for academic research, campus & community education, and a space for the community to mindfully connect with nature.
