Photography: the technology, processes and principles were finding footing in early 19th century Europe. Lens technology and chemical manufacturing combined with centuries-old ideas and fortunate moments of chance to introduce a process that would launch a new artistic medium, impact the nature of documentation as well as forever change solutions in the other visual arts.
Traveling for three weeks in England and France, this experience will take students to the birthplace(s) of modern photography, instruct them in the history of the medium as well as introduce them to the original photographic technologies used in printing, drawing, painting, 3-dimensional art and architecture. 学生 will visit museums and locations to observe and recreate photography, painting, drawing and three dimensional work.
Locations include London, Lacock, Paris, Roeun, and the Dijon region of France w在这里 students will create art using multiple mediums in the very places Monet, Pissaro, Le Gray, Daguerre, Talbot and other greats established their genius.
