Every year, hundreds to thousands of UVU students engage in high-quality original research and creative work. In the majority of cases these projects are only displayed at off-campus conferences, so we never get to see the work here at UVU. The 展示 is an on-campus opportunity to display some of our student's best artistic performances, displays of visual arts, and poster presentations of original research and writings. The 展示 is co-sponsored by the UVU Scholarly & Creative Undergraduate Learning Partnership Team (雕刻).
Please note that if the research being presented includes human subjects, and the possibility exists that either the instructor or the student would consider disseminating the data as generalizable knowledge, i.e., present the data at a local, regional, or national conference, or publish the results in a book or journal, the research must be submitted for Institutional Review Board (IRB) review and approval. The modern age demands rigid specialization, yet we are creative beings with infinite potential to explore. True innovation arises from those who embrace a broad spectrum of knowledge. This talk explores the power of the polymath mindset—blending disciplines such as art, computer science, literature, math, engineering, history, and technology to create groundbreaking work. Drawing from my experiences in animation, VFX, game development, drawing, novel writing, and entrepreneurship, I will illustrate how merging diverse fields gives us the power to forge new creative works.
学生s will discover how reading widely, cultivating curiosity, and connecting seemingly unrelated subjects can set them apart in their careers and creative endeavors. By adopting a Renaissance approach to learning, they can enhance adaptability, problem-solving skills, and originality, opening doors to success in any field. The future belongs to those who dare to think beyond a single discipline—those who choose to become polymaths.
